ASPA's 2004 National Conference took place March 27-30 in Portland, Oregon. The conference theme was "Transforming Governance in a World Without Boundaries".

The first annual PPMRN National Conference was held at Rutgers University, Newark Campus.

The World Mayor's Forum was held in June 2008.

The 66th ASPA National Conference was held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on April 2-5, 2005. The conference theme was "Advancing Public Service Performance: Innovations in Research and Practice."
